Pentecost Sunday

Sunday, May 24, 2026

"Come Meet The Holy Spirit"

Our Road to Resurrection was the foundation; the empty tomb was just the beginning. We have walked the path of the Risen Christ, and now we stand on the threshold of Power. We are moving from the quiet joy of the Resurrection into the Mighty Rushing Wind of Pentecost. This is the hour to transition from spectators to Multipliers—carrying the fire of the Gospel from our "Seats to our Circles" until our city is consumed by the grace of God!

What is Pentecost Sunday?

Acts 2:1-13

Pentecost is rooted in the Old Testament as a Jewish feast, which was called the Feast or Harvest, or the Feast of Weeks (Ex. 23:16, Ex. 34:22-28, Lev. 23:15-22, Dt. 16:9-12)

The Feast occured 50 days after the Passover. Pentecost is the Greek name for the feast, the 50th day.

For the world, Pentecost means the universal spreading of the Gospel. The global perspective is to widen the mission worldwide and share the gospel of Jesus Christ.

To the church, Pentecost means its birthday. Pentecosts, to the church, also means that you have been enabled or empowered to live the mission as a witness to the Resurrected Lord.

Why Does It Matter?

It matters because you have been remarkably and uniquely enabled by the person and power of the Holy Spirit to be the church, outside the walls of the church, to bear witness to the world about the Resurrected Lord.
