Before the Wall focuses on helping individuals, youth, and families before incarceration occurs or before its effects create further hardship.

We believe prevention begins with strong families, healthy relationships, positive role models, education, and access to trusted community resources.

Our Before the Wall initiatives may include:

• Youth mentoring and prevention programs

• Drug and alcohol awareness education

• Literacy and educational support

• Family outreach and encouragement

• Support for children of incarcerated parents

• Angel Tree and family-centered programs

• Community education and awareness

• Connections to employment, counseling, and social services

• Partnerships with churches, schools, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders

Our goal is to interrupt cycles that may lead to incarceration and help families remain connected, informed, and supported.

Prison Visitation, Discipleship, and Encouragement

Behind the Wall focuses on serving men and women who are currently incarcerated.

Our trained volunteers enter correctional facilities to share the Gospel, offer encouragement, build relationships, and support spiritual and personal growth.

Behind the Wall ministry may include:

• Prison visitation

• Bible study and Christian discipleship

• Worship services and prayer

• Life-skills development

• Small-group discussions

• Mentoring and personal encouragement

• Restorative justice education

• Cognitive and behavioral development programs

• Support for prison chaplains

• Graduation and recognition ceremonies

• Partnerships with Prison Fellowship and correctional institutions

Volunteers serving inside correctional facilities must complete all required training and receive approval from the appropriate correctional authorities.

Reentry, Restoration, and Second Chances

Beyond the Wall focuses on supporting individuals as they return to their families and communities.

Reentry can be challenging. Formerly incarcerated individuals may face barriers involving employment, housing, transportation, education, identification, healthcare, family relationships, and access to community resources.

Our Beyond the Wall initiatives may include:

• Reentry mentoring

• Employment and résumé assistance

• Community resource referrals

• Spiritual support and church connection

• Expunction and nondisclosure seminars

• Legal information clinics

• Second Chance awareness events

• Family reunification support

• Life-skills and financial education

• Assistance locating housing, transportation, and identification resources

• Partnerships with employers, attorneys, nonprofits, and community agencies

Through Christian fellowship, accountability, and practical support, we help returning citizens move forward with dignity, confidence, and hope.

No. Many volunteer roles do not require prior prison ministry experience. Training and guidance are provided based on the service opportunity.

No. Correctional facilities have specific application, training, screening, identification, and approval requirements. Volunteers must follow all applicable rules and procedures.

Approval timelines vary. The process may take several weeks depending on the facility, training schedule, background review, and staffing.

Yes. Volunteers are needed for family outreach, prayer, legal clinics, reentry support, youth programs, hospitality, communications, administration, and community resource development.

The ministry does not provide legal advice. Legal seminars and clinics are conducted with qualified attorneys or approved legal partners. Eligibility for expunction or nondisclosure depends on each individual’s circumstances and applicable law.
