Give Praise to the Lord
May 31 - June 6
"I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High." (Psalm 9:1-2)
Devotional: Praise is an outward expression of an inward joy we feel when accomplishing a long-awaited goal. We praise our children when they achieve even the smallest milestones. We’re filled with joy when our babies take their first steps. When our sons get their first job. Or, when we walk across the stage to receive that hard-earned degree. If we can give praise for human accomplishments, how much more shouldn’t we give praise to the Lord for the goodness and mercy He gives us each day! How much more shouldn’t we sing praises to the One who formed us with His own hands and from His nostrils, breathe life into our mortal bodies! Let us praise the Lord for the marvelous things He has done!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I praise you for who you are! When I think of the heavens and all that Your hands have made… my heart is filled with joy. I will sing praises to your Holy Name!
Reflection Question: Spend time this week reflecting on God’s goodness. Take a moment to watch a morning sunrise or listen to the sounds of creation. Praise God for His marvelous works!
