What the World Needs Now

What the World Needs Now
August 23 - 29
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
Devotional: Judges make decisions day in and day out on the validity on one’s guilty or innocent. Ironically the bible plays a role regarding this because those who have been called to testify in the court cases must swear on the bible to tell the truth. Jesus reminds us from this passage from the bible in John 13 that He can know if you are a disciple of his based on your love for one another. He knows!
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we know that it isn’t always easy to love some people but yet, You have given us access to the Holy Spirit to love those who are deemed unlovable. Lord show us how to love and share love to those who are desperately in need of comfort and care. God, remind us of the importance of caring those who many have turned their backs on and lead us to be willing vessels because we are all of your creation, in the Jesus I pray, Amen!
Reflection Question: Are you trying to follow Jesus as Lord while disliking someone very close to you?
